quality answers at your fingertips

We’ve talked about this great tool twice before, but Xrefer+ has changed its name to Credo Reference, so now we get to talk about it again!

Access 275 high-quality reference books on your computer, thanks to Red Deer College Library and the Lois Hole Campus Alberta Digital Library. We have a subscription to Credo Reference (formerly Xrefer+) to provide you with the quick reference facts you need, when you need them, where you are.

Credo Reference includes specialty titles on many subjects (art, music, history, science, medicine), and general reference sources such as thesauri, dictionaries, and encyclopedias.

Need to know what rhymes with orange? Search the Penguin Rhyming Dictionary on Credo Reference to find the answer. Need to know how to pronounce Tarahumara? Search the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, through Credo Reference, and listen to the pronunciation. You can also do conversions (temperature, distance, energy, etc.) on Credo Reference.

For a complete overview of a topic, try the concept map feature. Concept maps can be created for any topic, and will pull in all related concepts while keeping the sources in context. The Concept Map enables you to quickly find information when you don’t know exactly what to look for, or want to expand your knowledge of a given area.

If you want to try it out for fun, take the “starter quiz,” or sign up for the “weekly brainteaser.”
